I think that OSes and their variants are like musical instruments: you can make some rational arguments about the pros and cons of each, but there's a less rational "feel" aspect as well. I've always been of the opinion that you've hit the sweet spot if you can find the OS that meets your needs, both in terms of functionality and feel. I've got XP on a desktop and Vista on a laptop, and I find myself using XP more often because it annoys me way less -- it feels less sluggish, especially after waking up, and it never "forgets" about the Wifi connection the way Vista does half the time. @Jeff Atwood: Oh, they’re all annoying, all right, in their own special ways.
