Yep, the Sinclairs keyboard and the Aquarius keyboard were horrific. I remember the Timex Sinclair's (in)sensitive pads, and the Mattel's were squishy remote-control unit like buttons. In in that era, the IBM keyboard was the Cadillac - noisy, clicks though. I remember the C-64 as having a very comfortable keyboard, as well as the TI-99.
